Nicknamed as “The Little England” one will not be surprised at how closely the city resembles the British ambience. Founded by Samuel Baker, the city is a complete delight, with breathtaking views of Blue Mountains, glistening grasslands dotted by horses and ponies grazing on them ever so carelessly, and including many points of interests such as; Lake Gregory, Hakgala Botanical Gardens, Laxapana Falls, St. Clairs waterfall, Lover’s Leap Waterfall, Devon falls, The Ceylon Breweries, Tea plantation and factory, Horton Plains including the World’s End.
