Horton Plain National Park

Horton plain national park is a located in central high lands which is identified as a montane grassland. It is 30 km away from Nuwara Eliya. Among the wild life in the park, large herd of Sri Lankan Sambar deer can be seen commonly. The park is a home for many species of endemic plants, trees and migratory birds to Sri Lanka. Because of these values, it has been identified as a world heritage. The sun rays kissing the grass with the veil of mist are fascinating. The peak of Kirigalpoththa, Bakers Falls, Chimney Pool and the famous World’s End (a 3700 ft. sheer drop that offers fabulous views of the tea estates below and all the way out to the distant southern coastline) are the most visited places in the park.
